During lockdown, we have had quite the adventure keeping business going. One of the things that people started doing was making their own sugar—a little DIY experiment. Mark dives in about why this may or may not work.

There are a few reasons we should use a professional product.
1) Consistency-Your clients should be able to rely on a product and a result.
2) Efficiency-If your paste is consistent, you are able to move forward and become a better sugar professional for your clients.
3) Insurance-If something is off with your sugar, you are protected when you use a professional product!

A quality paste will have no preservatives. That means you have to take care of it. Otherwise, it becomes very susceptible to the elements such as heat, humidity, and air (if left unopened). Mark dives into how to store and use...

It’s time to GET SUGARED!

If you haven’t already, the first thing you need to do when you are deciding whether or not to become a certified Body Sugaring Pro is to try the treatment yourself. Go bold and experience the full monty of a Brazilian or if brows are more you speed start there. Whatever you do…you must experience the difference between waxing and sugaring. You must understand what your client will be experiencing. How can you honestly explain to your clients the benefits of this practice if you havent experienced it yourself?

If you know your sugaring practitioner, ask her to do one side with wax and the other with sugar (if she even still has a wax pot!). Or ask her to hold your skin taught on one side, and dont hold the skin on the other. Experience what you client will be experiencing. Trust me, you will never not hold your clients skin after a flick again!
