Today, we dive into tax planning! Here is the key, tax planning should be throughout the entire year to avoid people scrambling for their documents. Plus, any deductions that you are trying to receive must take place during the year. You canât earn more deductions once the year is complete.
There are several things you should be doing, but we are diving into the top 3!
These three things all work together throughout the year!
Letâs dive into bookkeeping. What exactly is it? This means using an accounting software to track inflow and outflow of transactions that are categorized. Also, make sure you have a separate business account. Everything should be separate for tracking and potential auditing.
Second tip is setting aside money...
Today we welcome Mark Essay with Sugar of the Nile! Mark manufactures sugar and is here to answer all of the questions surrounding why sugar does what is does.
During lockdown, we have had quite the adventure keeping business going. One of the things that people started doing was making their own sugarâa little DIY experiment. Mark dives in about why this may or may not work.
There are a few reasons we should use a professional product.
1) Consistency-Your clients should be able to rely on a product and a result.
2) Efficiency-If your paste is consistent, you are able to move forward and become a better sugar professional for your clients.
3) Insurance-If something is off with your sugar, you are protected when you use a professional product!
A quality paste will have no preservatives. That means you have to take care of it. Otherwise, it becomes very susceptible to the elements such as heat, humidity, and air (if left unopened). Mark dives into how to store and use warmers wit...
A business that sells to customers is the technical description of a distributor. Alexanderâs is so much more than that!Â
Alexanderâs Aesthetics started in the family. The love of skincare prompted him to purchase many many products over the years trying to find the best ones out there. In the end, this led to a formation of a very large company that was centered around education of doctors and estheticians. This ended up becoming our foundation--to educate and provide information for clients while they are trying to find the right products for them and their businesses.
Q: Wendy, when did you decide to jump into the family business?Â
A: My mom took it over while I was an adult so I didnât grow up with it. My husband and I both worked in the volatile business of tech in Colorado and decided we wanted something different. At the suggestion of my mother, we jumped into opening Alexanderâs Aesthetics in Colorado. Once I opened the business, I definitely had a new-found respect for m...
This episode is a MUST LISTEN! Donât make the mistake of picking a sugary sweet name for your biz without learning more from our guest, Joey Vitale from Indie Law.Â
When Joey Vitale was in college, he was bribed by his father to go to law school with a new car. He quickly realized he was not the âshark.â Due to it not fitting, he started his own graphic design business. Through networking, he realized how many people in business had questions. So, he started a law firm to fill the need in order to help cut out the noise.
Many people go with less expensive solutions than hiring a lawyer. They resort to quick fix, low cost solutions. The problem with that is there is one solution for everyone--which is not the right solution for everyone. Instead, Joey works with people to educate and empower them in their business decisions.
His law firm focuses on the must haves for a business and has solidified the process into programs for those starting their business. This helps people to c...
Welcome back to episode 4 of The SugarShow. We are here with Joelle Lee to share her story and share some nuggets of wisdom on mindfully creating and pricing your menu.
Joelle Lee is an esthetician, previously a medical esthetician. She proceeded to specialize in laser treatments with a focus in people of color. One of her first clients happened to be Michelle Obama! This was long before anything was attached to her. All of the sudden, her client was now the first lady. She moved to D.C. to follow her client and took the opportunity to recreate and launch her line.
While momentum was building, she wasnât happy with the product line 7 years later. Life took off as she began to grow her family. It was at that moment she let the products go and refocused on clients. Shortly after that change, she was able to start teaching and consulting other estheticians.
This led to publishing her first book! And she discovered traveling with her book, teaching other estheticians, and focusing ...

On todayâs podcast, we welcome Annie Mayo with Advanced Mineral Makeup. Iâve always seen Annie at shows and her booth is always crowded! She created a line a mineral makeup that provides natural color coverage with minerals that support healthy and happy skin. I am so thankful to have her on the show today to share her knowledge!
Advanced Mineral Makeup is more than makeup. In fact, it is so much more that the work âmakeupâ shouldnât even be used. It is a skin treatment that colors skin. And the best part, it is the perfect addition to an after-sugaring treatment! Advanced Minerals are made up of just thatâminerals! These minerals are bacteria fighting, skin calming, inflammation fighting wonders. Annie suggests adding this as a finishing touch to your treatment because it will benefit everyoneâs skin plus add a âfinishedâ touch.
